Why Are You Afraid of Spirits?

Why Are You Afraid of Spirits? post thumbnail image

Let’s ask an honest question: why are you afraid of spirits?

It sounds like a funny question at first. But think about it deeply, why are we afraid of the unknown, of things we cannot see or control?

Is it because we’ve forgotten who we really are?

Let me be clear: this is not a sermon, but an awakening. You see, we often live as though we are powerless, as though life is happening to us instead of through us. But the truth is, you carry authority, not just as a person, but as a spirit being.

Yes, you are spirit. You inhabit flesh, but your true essence transcends it. And yet, so many of us walk around fearful of “spirits,” unaware that we, too, are one.

So again, why the fear?

Maybe it’s because we’ve bought into the illusion that life is governed solely by what we can touch, see, or logically explain. Maybe we’ve forgotten that thought, intention, and awareness are more powerful than fear.

You don’t overcome fear by worrying.
You overcome fear by knowing.
By remembering.

Reconnecting With Who You Are

There’s immense power in simply becoming aware of yourself, of your mind, your body, and your spirit. When you align with who you truly are, the unknown stops being something to fear and becomes something to explore.

Whether or not you believe in reincarnation is beside the point. Across many traditions, Igbo, Yoruba, Hindu, and others, there are teachings that suggest we return to this earth again and again, to fulfill a purpose, to evolve. Even if this isn’t literally true, the metaphor holds: life gives you lessons and you either grow through them or repeat them.

And let’s be real: whether you’re afraid or not, death will come. Pain will come. Change will come. So wouldn’t it be wiser to face life boldly and fulfill your purpose than to shrink in fear?

Your existence is not accidental. You’re here for a reason.

And if you fail to walk in that purpose, there’s a chance you’ll find yourself stuck in the same class, repeating the same test, over and over.

But you don’t have to.

The Illusion of Powerlessness

We often give too much power to the unknown, to fear, to circumstances beyond our control. But who gave those things permission to rule over you?

Not your Creator.

If the very force that made you has not destroyed you for your flaws, why would anything else?

You are not just flesh. Flesh is dust. Temporary. Fleeting. It’s the spirit within that carries weight. And the beauty of your existence is that you walk in both worlds, you experience the physical and the spiritual. That’s a gift many forget to cherish.

You can touch. You can feel. You can know. You have the opportunity to align both flesh and spirit, to receive revelation, to evolve, to remember who you are.

Living From the Spirit

If you’re disconnected from your spirit, you’ll miss the patterns in your life, patterns you need to reject, accept or continue. Everything you face has existed before; you’re just here to live it out with awareness.

This life has already been written in potential. But how it unfolds is up to you.

You can choose to walk in fear and stay stuck or you can choose to walk in alignment, clarity, and courage. You have the power to decide.

Not lukewarm.
Not in-between.
Decide.

Walk in the light of your own awareness. Stand for something. Move forward. Because staying still is not an option. If you’re not going forward, you’re going “home”, and not the comforting home, but the kind that means stagnation, poverty of spirit, unmet purpose.

And that is a kind of death too.

A Final Word

This is not about might or power. It’s about awareness. About walking with your spirit and with your body in unity.

Your flesh is not your enemy. It was given to you for a reason. Learn to work with it. Don’t give in to its weaknesses, but also don’t ignore its wisdom. Even a mosquito bite is feedback. Don’t ignore what the body is trying to tell you.

Spirit and flesh, hand in hand. That’s where your true power lies.

So, if this message finds you well, take it to heart.

And remember:
You have nothing to fear.
Not spirits. Not the unknown.
Not even death.

You are spirit. You are here.
Live like it.
