My Friends are not Permitted to Call my Husband - Funke Akindele

Funke Akindele Bello (popularly known as Funke Akindele)is a Nigerian actress and producer. Funke starred in the sitcom I Need to Know from 1998 to 2002, and in 2009 she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.She plays the lead character in the show Jenifa's Diary,for which she was named Best Actress in a Comedy at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Funke has over 100 movies to her credit as actress, writer, and producer. Now there is this trending gossip or should I call it gist or more like a piece of warning from this Nollywood diva.The Popular comic actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, has said that her friends are not allowed to call her husband except on his birthday or when they are unable to reach her on the phone. Akindele-Bello, who is married to Abdul Rasheed Bello, a.k.a JJC Skillz, said this on Your View, a programme broadcast on Television Continental in Lagos, a video of which went viral.

While speaking on personal space with four of the show’s co-hosts, the actress said she would be upset if any of her close friends called her husband on the phone or brought food to him in her absence. She said, “Yes, your friend can come to your house. Your husband can know your best friend; he can say hello.

  • But why would you be calling my husband on the phone?
  • What happened?
  • Why do you want to call my husband?

Except it is his birthday and you want to wish him a happy birthday". She went further to say;

  • "Why should you bring food for my husband?
  • Are you okay?
  • Why would you want to come and say hello to him?
  • Why?

I’m your friend and you’re not his friend. His female friends can visit our home. That’s their business. But (if) you’re my friend, stay in your house. I’m not around. I’m in London. So you want to greet my husband? You’re not okay, I’m sorry.” Abdul Rasheed Bello professionally known as JJC Skillz is a Nigerian rapper, singer and leader of the London-based 419 Squad and most recently a Nollywood personality.

He got married to Nollywood star actress, Funke Akindele in 2016 in London. He had said in an interview with Newton-Ray Ukwuoma,  " Well, I’m now officially a music video and film director. For the past few years, I have been telling people that I was about to move into Nollywood, but they didn’t believe me. I have made that come true. I’m now one of the directors of Jenifa’s Dairy. I shot all London scenes and now we are back to Nigeria, still doing it. I’m one of the brains behind an upcoming TV series entitled, “Industreet”.

It was produced by my wife, Funke Akindele-Bello. We came up with the concept of creating a story around the entertainment industry in Nigeria. I’m also part owner of the SOP music label that has four new acts. We are planning lot of movies this year, so you can see my hands are full". Obviously, Jennifer Akindele Bello has been enjoying her marriage coupled with her bundle of joy (her twin). Her husband JJC skillz is one in a million to her. Sincerely, Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz are unarguably one of Nigeria's coolest celebrity couples, they always share their happy moments giving us the feeling that they are really experiencing marriage in roses.

So now you know, little wonder Funke could not hold her warning to herself. Maybe she has been suspecting some kukere movements around her hubby and she just can't shout (loll). On the other hand,Jennifer is celebrating her 8 million new followers and she is happy at the moment, So do not be too concerned, it's just a warning in form of advice (lol)
